Continuous Ink JetThe Linx 9820 is a flexible Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) printer engineered for higher-throughput production applications. It combines dependable coding performance with features designed to reduce downtime, simplify operator tasks, and improve production changeovers. The Linx 9820 supports up to 3 lines of print and a wide range of coding formats, while providing flexible connectivity and production management options.
- Flexible coding capability: Prints up to 3 lines of text with support for text, symbols, numbers, dates, times, graphics, logos, sequential numbering, barcodes, Data Matrix, GS1 Data Matrix, and QR codes.
- High-speed printing: Delivers speeds of up to 6.25 m/s for single-line printing and up to 2.46 m/s for two-line printing using the MK11 Midi printhead. The MK11 Midi supports character heights from 1.8 mm to 20 mm.
- AutoFlush printhead cleaning: Provides a unique automatic start and stop cleaning routine designed to prevent blocked nozzles, reduce ink build-up and daily maintenance, and eliminate solvent waste during the cleaning cycle.
- Linx PrintProtect® battery backup: Allows printing to continue for up to 3 minutes during power interruptions and provides up to 9 minutes of battery-powered jet operation when moving the printer between production lines.
- Fast and repeatable changeovers: Stores up to 1,000 print messages and 50 line settings. Line settings can also be backed up and transferred between printers using a USB drive.
- 7-inch full-colour touchscreen: Features an intuitive icon-led interface, multilingual language selection, a customisable home screen, password-protected functions, prompted text fields, and guided on-screen maintenance wizards.

- Linx QuickSwitch®: Enables real-time message changes from external production devices or a barcode scanner, helping accelerate changeovers and reduce message-selection errors.
- Linx Iris® Vision System compatibility: Supports automated code inspection to detect missing codes, incorrect positioning, missing characters, invalid dates, distorted characters, and other coding issues. Configurable alarms can alert operators or stop the production line.
- Remote monitoring and integration: Linx PrinterNet® and REST API connectivity provide remote printer monitoring, production insights, automated code setup, and integration with IT or production systems.
- Active Airflow Control®: Can reduce solvent consumption by up to 42%, helping lower running costs and reduce the frequency of printer refills.
- EasiChange® service module: Enables servicing in approximately 30 minutes with only 0.5 litres of ink changed. The Linx 9820 can achieve service intervals of up to 12 months, depending on the ink type.
- Extended shutdown capability: Allows the Linx 9820 to be shut down for up to 3 months without flushing or draining, helping minimise maintenance requirements during planned production shutdowns.
- Flexible connectivity: Includes Ethernet, USB, REST interface, Extended QuickSwitch, RCI, product detector, shaft encoder, vision camera connections, and alarm outputs for integration with production-line equipment.
